Welcome to Amelia's Page
On May 1, 2013, Amelia Lynn Newton was born at 28 weeks and 6 days weighing in at 3 lbs., 2oz. This day started a journey for myself and my husband that would be both terrifying and beautiful.
Amelia's original due date was July 18, 2013. She spent the first two months of her life in the Saint Barnabas Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Not knowing what to expect during her stay in the NICU and all of the emotions that came with having a premature child, the NICU took amazing care of our daughter and us as they helped us to understand and learn about the care she received.
I've wanted to participate in this walk since she was born, but work commitments have always conflicted with the date of the walk--except for this year! Amelia and I will be participating this year and I hope that you can donate to such a wonderful cause. Amelia would not be here today if it wasn't for the tremedous efforts of the nurses, doctors and staff that take care of these little miracles. Continuing reading below to learn more about this amazing event and about the NICU!
Help me support Saint Barnabas Medical Center and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit by donating today!
Miracles happen every day. The 17th Annual Miracle Walk is a wonderful family fun-filled day, which raises funds in support of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Saint Barnabas Medical Center
As a level III Regional Perinatal Center, the NICU offers the latest treatments and modalities in the field to provide the most advanced care for more than 1,100 premature and ill newborns each year. Our NICU has one of the best infant survival rates among neonatal intensive care units in the nation.
On behalf of the entire NICU family and the 1,100 babies we care for annually, I hope you can support me and my team for this year's walk. Your commitment and generosity help to guarantee a strong future for the NICU and Saint Barnabas Medical Center.
You can walk with me on October 8 or donate to my team. Your support will matter to so many people. Please join me today!
